WhatsApp made a mistake again, the contact list was leaked on Google's web version |
The beginning of the year 2021 has not been good for Facebook-owned WhatsApp. First WhatsApp was fumed about the new policy, after that the WhatsApp group invites leaked on Google. Now again another controversy has been added to WhatsApp. The contact list has been leaked on Google from the web version of WhatsApp. The contact list of WhatsApp web users has been seen in Google search indexing. The new leak has also been confirmed by cyber researcher Rajasekhar Rajaharia. He told that all the numbers leaked on Google are private and not business, although WhatsApp has not said anything on this leak yet.
Earlier this week, the WhatsApp group's invoices leaked into Google indexing, after which WhatsApp clarified and asked Google to remove the invisible links and chats from indexing. After this leak, anyone could join someone's private WhatsApp group and read private chats. Invite links of around 1,500 WhatsApp groups were coming in Google results. Many of these groups were of porn and many belonged to a particular community. Some groups were from Bengali and Marathi.
15 Jan 2021, If you are using @WhatsApp Web, your Mobile Number and Messages are being index by @Google again. Don't know why WhatsApp is still not monitoring their website and google. Updates to postpone privacy for three months
WhatsApp's new privacy policy was to come into effect from February 8, but after the dispute, the company has postponed its new policy for the next three months. WhatsApp has clearly stated in its blog that no account will be deleted on February 8. Let us know that there are 400 million users in India, which is the highest in the world.
